Ive got a yz450f and it dies when you try to open the throttle fairly quickly in neutral or when going slow in 1st. any suggestions?

Jetting.
It's a 4 stroke. Going from idle to wide open with quick response is tough to impossible. Roll it on, and always properly adjust you're fuel screw. That should help a bit.
Do not buy a Quickshot for a 450. Pure danger.

once again as with the other jetting questions on here, get a jd jetting jet kit. its expensive but worth every penny. easy to install, and works perfectly.

you could also have something in your carb lol.....Take it out soak it in some gas, maybe check your jetting then try it.
What year is it? Take out your pilot jet and blow it out with air, check jets for obstructions. Rejet for temp and altitude, consult your owners manual or dealer for correct jetting. adjust your fuel screw. I would start jetting by setting your fuel screw then move to the pilot (try a richer pilot jet and see what happens)then jet the needle,( JD kits if you want to try their needle, Ive had good luck with their needles). Make sure the plastic screw threads from the cable going into the carb are not striped as they will cause an air leak, if someone was not careful screwing it in the threads are easy to strip and causes problems.

Nope. I quit back in June. No more for me. Not too happy about it.
