Im not sure what to think. That game looks like it has HUGE potential, but as it as right now, looks pretty crappy. The textures are just terrible and the rider sits all the time. Im really not sure how I feel on this. Any info on it?
****Edit, just saw the link, downloading now.

It has a sit dab button to press when you want to sit
The Game has come along way in the past 6 months
The rider models now are very detailed and has 09 Yam, Hon,Kaw and Suk
The game Dev jlv has biult the game from scratch
On his forum you can tell him what he needs to improve on and what you would like to see in the game under Game Suggestions....he actually listens and he is on there every day
MX Simulator.com
The game is updated on average evry month and a half
I really think this game is going to overcome any MX game out there The potential is endless

The only problem with the game is one of the same problems mva had, the community is full of little prick know it all's and control freaks. And the fact that the games fairly bland models and textures already push high spec computers to the limits. But the physics are great, lierop is great fun, but i love the supercross tracks.

If im not mistaken, you can download the demo, but you have to buy the actual game which is much improved over hte demo. I think thats how it works, right motoboss?

Ya thats right
The Demo has just been updated with the newer textures and I think some more features
But the full version is so much better with the new bike models and wheels and all the User Made tracks I am pretty much making the switch from MVA to MXS now
jlv is working on rider lean for the one of the next updates for the full version he will probbly add it to the demo also

Thankyou for posting this and thus bringing it to everyone's attention.
I loved the demo and have just purchased the full game (disc form). When I finally get to play it, i'll let you guys know what I think. An MX game devoted to realism... About time!

I know exactly what you mean. I honestly thought that there was something wrong with my copy when I first played this without the arcade physics. It was so frustrating and what amazed me was that very few people seemed to be suffering with it in the way that I was. People talked about riding around with 60 stability! I couldn't even begin to imgine how people were doing that, I could barely ride around at 80. I totally agree that this is harder than doing the real thing. I changed various settings a ton of times but no luck. I even stuck the arcade physics back on but the problem with that, is you loose so much feel and it just becomes wooden and easy.
However I didn't want to give up with it because underneath I could see that it would an awesome game and that people were having a blast with it. So I persisted and eventually got better and better. I could now ride around OK-ish at 85 stability.
Whats really improved things for me though is the new beta rider physics he has up there. It's now completely playable and i'm loving it. I can whip over the jumps, slide round the corners etc. It's still challenging but nothing like before. I'm having so much fun with it!
If your struggling in the way I was, I would highly recommend installing this test physics pack. It's only a beta version and thus the riders don't have torsos but it does (for me) make the game awesome.

Yeah all i have is the demo.
So how much is the full version? Cause this game looks worth getting. Even though it doesn't have great graphics.
they should really put these physics into stuff like Mx vs Atv: Untamed. That game has amazing graphics, but the physics are just horrible. They went for ahuge jump for trying to make it realistic, but they came up really really short.

Well its a little easier to play using a controller than a keybourd IMO
If you have a controller set it up like you do your dirtbike make your main controls that you use all the time the easiest buttons to push then set the other things where you can push them without that much difficullty ...That helped me alot
Also set your stability really low and play on that for a couple hours then raise it and youll find that you will do better

From my 10 minutes of experience playing it at work (BAHAHA), you can turn better by turning the stability down. The lower the stability, the better the rider responds, but it gets pretty insane when you get below 40ish.

Yeah but when i turned down the stability, it was im possible for me to keep straight and keep the bike upright.

Can I somehow use my 360 controller to play this?
Downloaded the demo and tried playing on my laptop and its impossible unless I use arcade physics, but playing it on arcade is pointless, best part of the game seems to be the physics. From the videos I've seen either the final version is completely different and/or a controller makes all the difference.

I have been playing this game for several months now. I suck at it but i'm having a blast. It's by far the best mx game out there. I maybe can give some pointers...
- Stability at 100 is way to high. If you are a beginning rider start with 85. Then gradually go down. After a week go to 80, then to 75, then to 70. Going to 40 or something and then, after a while go back up might also help although i must admit that doing that can get frustrating. (I usually play at stability level 40 to 50, depending on the track)
- If you play this game (especially with keyboard) always use antilock brakes (back and front brakes). The reason for this is simple. Mx sim is a simulator, it tries to copy real life. In real life you always brake gradually. With a keyboard you can't brake gradually. You brake fully or you don't brake at all. So you have 2 options. You buy a controller with analog buttons for the brakes (which means you'll need 3 analog buttons, 1 for throttle and 2 for the brakes and i'm not sure a controller with 3 analog buttons is on the market) Having antilock brakes is not really lifelike but its better then locking up all the time
- Someone allready has said that the rider responds a lot better with the stability level lower. But that guy also said that it's almost impossible to control the rider on lower speeds with the stability decreased. Now there is a hidden menu in this game (i hope it is in the demo as well but i'm not sure). Go to the "bike setup" menu and put your mousepointer on "stability" Then on your keyboard press "*". Now you come in the hidden menu. Increase the level on the last slider (slow damping factor). Default that is set at 1.25 . Increase that to somewhere in between 2.5 and 3. Then hit "esc" twice and you are back in the race screen. Now you will have low stability when riding fast (so your bike responds good) but when you go slower the stability level will go up (like for instance in a hairpin your bike will be more stable and more controllable). From the moment you pick up speed again the stability will automatically go down. One thing you must remember about this thing is that you can not save that setting. Every time you close the game it goes back to the default setting (1.25). So every time you start the game you have to go back to that submenu to increase it.
- the most important tip : practise, practise and practise. And when your done practise some more. That is how you get fast irl and how you get fast in mxsim. I hear people saying that after 10 minutes they uninstalled the game because they sucked. Well.. imagine you have never riden a dirtbike before and then someone gives you one and you have to go on the track immediately. How will you do after 10 minutes ? My younger brother said after he played this game for 10 minutes "I can't turn like Bubba in this game". Well.. Bubba could not turn like Bubba does now after only 10 minutes on a bike.
I hope these tips help you guys out a little. Have fun :)

Also turn the direct steering down to 0.63 in that hidden menu helps alot also. If you get the newest snapshots off the website(have to have full version to use them) it saves the settings in the hidden menu now.

I love sims and MXS seems to be incredible but i'm just getting started. Can anyone recommend some good settings for just getting acclimated to the controls? Also, PLEASE how do you get the demo to third person camera? Thanks.
toonys66
12-15-2009, 11:39 AM
hello, to play third person you must press the tab button, and after for the settings, a lot of people use stock settings, me i did not know at the beginning so i use stock and it goes all right but on the website www.mxsimulator.com (http://www.mxsimulator.com) i found the setting of jlv and mittocs (the best rider) so i put the one of mittocs and it goes well! i try to look for it to give it to you but i do not found the page!
but with stock it s ok! just putting down little by little after practising the stability! start at around 80 and go until like 20 or less if you like, but people say 20 is the best! 0 is for freestyle and throwing huge whips!
have fun

I can't believe you f.uckers talked me into buying this game. I just finally noticed this thread a week or so ago and though cool, sounds badass. I downloaded the demo and thought "damn, this sucks, but the real thing must be way more badass." So I go ahead and download the real thing for the 45 bucks, and it's the same exact thing as the demo, but with more tracks. I guess you got to be a computer genius and follow their forum religously to get the bikes to look good and get some new tracks. I don't have the skill to do all that BS. And these "super realistic physics" is a bunch of bull. It's way too sensitive and weird to have any fun with. If riding was anything like this game I would be dead. It literally pissed me off.
In the games defense a bunch of people seem to be all about it, so I don't know what their deal is.

I got really excited about it to. When I finally started playing the demo it was ****. I don't doubt it could be good with hours of practice and fine tuning, but it's not worth $45 for the average MX enthusiast. I am sticking to Reflex online.
