The 64,000 dollar question, can he go the whole series?

I think he can. Last years knee deal was just one of those goofy things that happen. He wasn't on the edge or even close to the edge. He simply hit a large rock that he didn't see. If not for that, he wins the title no problem. This year will be much of the same but he won't have to chase RC at any races. BT is the only one I see being able to challenge him and I think that is a stretch.

BT has issues keeping it on two wheels as well. So it should be a pretty interesting season. But I agree with you on the injury being goofy. JNick. Just one of those things that happens.

I think Stewart is going to come back and just lay wood to everyone like he did after his shoulder injury in 2003.

I think you guys are hugely underestimating Townley's speed. Townley will push him if his wrist doesnt hurt him to bad.

Another guy that has made huge steps is I.T. Him and Townley both are on the RC training regiment.

You guys are going to be suprised who much ground a few have made in their outdoor program compared to Stewy. Dont get me wrong I still think that if Stewy doesnt throw a yard sale he will win it, but Townley is no slouch and will push him the whole way.

Its contract time for #7 I think he will be trying to keep it on two wheels it will all depend on if he has anyone pushing him. If someone can push him early befor he settles in will force him into mistakes if you let him get comfortable he can run off with it

Of course, I'm just speculating here but I doubt James will be forced into mistakes by anyone but himself. He knows the #4 isn't out there and he knows he can handle everyone else. Like I said above though, BT101 is the only question mark. BT seems like a guy that will be able to go the speed of James but IT seems more like a KDub type. Not that KDub is slow. It's just that KDub isn't as much of a risk taker as guys like RC and James and I see IT in that same mold. He's smooth and calculated though he seemed pretty stinkin agressive at the beginning of the SX season. Again, I'm only calling it how I see it. IT may be more of a risk taker than I know, I just know he looks damned smooth doing it. BT seems like he will get closer to his edge and pull speed out of his ass if he needs it.

Who would believe the opinion of someone as old as the above poster LOL
I agree with your take on IT to me he has always been a little more conservative like Kdub, but if you make a mistake he can run away with it. BT is a question mark not sure how much if any the wrist injury will play. I still think that if James does not get out front early he may get impatient and make early mistakes. Alessi and Milsaps have been known to get good starts it will be interesting. Just a shame so many want to race SX only.
I think the real excitment this year will again come out of the 125 class (sorry sounds better that LITEs) I look for that class to have multiple winners and although Villey has the ability and bike I don't see him running away with it. But of course he is still pissed about the SX season so he may have a larger that normal fire under his a$$

JS hurt himself without RC there last year though. JS pushes himself into mistakes.

Wish CR22 would race them outdoors!!

BT101 is the unknown but if he rides like he did in Ernee he will be closer to #7 than anyone.

Out of those on the line in the Motocross class BT is the only closest to Stewart.
IMO no-one would get any closer to James than Reed. Probably 5 - 10 secs back but Reed owned everyone else thus far when RC and Stewart were out in front. BT will be the new Reed outdoors if not better!

I agree with that but James seems to actually be learning from year to year. James has actually gotten better each year and I think he's learned how to keep it together. Last year in SX he kept it together but had some misfortune in MX. If not for that goofy knee bender, he'd have probably wrapped up that title too.

the thing with james, to me, it seems like he hasnt been the same since high point in '06. he battled with rc, and actually started to gap him before he had that huge crash over the bars. he almost seems tentative now. he's still by far the man to beat in my book.
the thing with townley, everyone is saying he can run with james because he ran with rc at the mxdn. not taking anything away from him, but that doesnt convince me that he has what it takes to run with stewart. and also, him training with rc doesnt really give him an advantage over james, in my opinion, beacause james has the best mx trainer out there (and thats a proven fact).
i really respect townley, but in order for me to believe that he can beat james, well, i will have to witness it for myself on sunday. just my two cents.

Its not that BT ran with RC for 2 motos, its the fact that he was the only guy that ran with and beat Evretts in 05 on a KTM. The same Everts that beat Stewy straight up 2 motos at the des nation 2 years ago. BT is in better shape and is on a better bike. I wouldnt say Aldon Baker is the best trainer either I would say that belongs to Jeff spencer, the guy that happens to be training Townley now.

Like I have said earlier, I think series wise Stewy takes it, but if Townley or Alessi beats him it wouldnt suprise me.
