Does anyone on here have a BA degree in Radio/Film/Television? If so what are the job opportunities you found available to you with that degree.
I've done some research on it, but I'm simply looking for anyone with some personal experience in that area.

I know a person or two who has a little bit to do with the Film/TV industry. I could ask them for you, if you'd like? I'm semi interested in that area as well so I'd also like to know

Well I wouldn't ask you to go out of your way... I mean it's not that big of a deal considering this is a motocross forum, but if you ask anyways, I would appreciate it.
I'm just kind of throwing some ideas around right now. I don't really like the situation I'm in right now, so I think I'm going to move back to Texas this summer but I'll need to find somethign to do. Honestly I don't really want to stay in college, but I know I should and I have a lot of pressure on me to do so, so I'm kinda stuck with that right now.

I'm in film school. I'm ****ed.
My opinion is that if you are interested in film/television, watch a lot of movies, take some basic classes on lighting and **** like that, and go **** around. Take a few script classes. Film is what you make of it, it's mostly just based on experience and watching other films. You definitely don't need a film degree to be a great filmmaker, but by gaining the experience of being on sets and ****. If you weren't talking bout film... then likely the same applies. Networking is the best asset of going to a specialized school. It's not going to get you a steady high paying job right off the bat. It takes years to build a resume to even get close to what you eventually want to do. In short, Get a degree you can use.

BA, 555? 812- Maybe he's like me and thinks it might be easyer to get your foot in the door with a good degree than without, for a start? Which ever way you go you would need to start at the bottom, no doubt, but it's better to be overqualified than under.

In film and tv you need a degree and lots of time interningI believe your insight into the world of porn would be more appreciated. You once commented on drugged out Pornstars being hot up until you're close enough to see the coke rings and baggy eyes. Something to do with an appropriate way to get into the industry would be appreciated.

Btw where do you get your info from? Should I expect to see a fat joe (ironic...) look alike on the next porno out of LA?

I was at a private university film school, went to community college, now I'm going to a state university's business school. Getting a degree in film production would've definitely opened a lot of doors for a basic production job somewhere in los angeles, and you work your way up from there. Like 812 said it's really ALL about networking.
I was just really bothered by the fact that my career choice would be pretty much limited to los angeles.
Am i happy with my decision? Yes. Do I miss getting to go to school to make movies? Yes.
It's a very competitive industry. Make sure if you commit it's something you really want bad. I wouldn't be able to dedicate myself to my "work" my whole life, and that's what film takes. Business is going to give me more options, and I like options, because I still don't entirely know what I want to do for the rest of my life.

I would say that's even more difficult than film mainly because there isn't much to distinguish talent in radio. What aspect of radio are you interested in? being a dj or something? or more behind the scenes?
