Getting Yamaha 450 08

[KTM CLUB MOTO]

My dad is sick of broken blown up 250f's ( We have 3 right :lol:)
So we decided to pick up 450s and dump the 250s.

I've read some tests, but what have you guys heard about or how do you like the 08 Yzf 450?

Haven't ridden the 08 but have ridden the 07... it felt very mellow. Almost slow.... but actually it was pretty fast. Otherwise it was very stable... turned alright (sorta pushed)... it was stock minus the ohlins suspension.

I thought it was the most explosive of the 07 450s I tried last year. My favorite was the CRF, but the YZ was a close second. Very good bike. They're all good actually.

I still have 06 YZ450f and the thing's a handful. I haven't been on a newer one but I keep hearing they are a whole lot tamer, and I'd say thats a good thing.

I actually have been riding 250fs lately and am whole lot faster just because there so easy to control. I just got an 08 YZ250f because of that and plan to start racing it soon. Just for maintenance reasons though I'll probably do most riding/practicing on the 450.

my friend has an 06 and that thing is nasty. I've been told that they tamed the motors down after 06. I haven't ridden an 08 450 yet, but if you think its to slow i know the 06 has all the power you can handle and then some.
