View Full Version : I was just asked if I was a VIETNAM vet!!!

I was at the Secretary of State (DMV) getting a new plate for a van I just bought. The lady behind the counter asked me what plate I would like and I told her I wanted a veteran's plate. She looks me right in the eye and says "Vietnam Vet?"
I just sat there with a dumbfounded look on my face...i mean, more than the usual dumbfounded look. For about ten seconds I am just staring at her like wtf? Until I see she is honestly waiting for me to answer the question. Me = :eek6::upset::upset::upset::no::nuts::lol::lol:
I just said to her very slowly that I am not quite old enough to be a Vietnam veteran and I served in the Persian Gulf. There was no moment of clarity or perhaps a small epiphany on her part. She didn't even acknowledge that her question would have gotten her eliminated from "Are you smarter than a 1st grader?" or that she is in some way related to Ms. South Carolina. I finished getting my plates and walked out bewildered that people like that can find employment. :lol:
....and yes, I now have a mini-van and I have already returned my man card in the postage paid envelope included with the van. :azz::cry:
