I don't think it's ever happened that both classes had foreign champs. It's looking really good for Pourcel right now and Reed would have to REALLLLLLY screw up to lose this title. By the way, the big boy class just isn't what it used to be. This is the most thinned out year I've ever seen.

Tons of injuries, but I really dont think its much different. Its sucked since RC started winning. The 1st 450 moto had a badass battle for 3rd for a long time.
It will be kinda cool seeing foreigners win the American motocross championship

I actually loved watching RC smash everyone. Why? Because I knew I was watching the best rider in the world. No questions asked. I would have liked if someone could have challenged him though.
Well, the only questions were from Fearo.

Except for Bayle when he cleaned house on evryone in evry class.' Now as for Stewart not representing the USA. He can suck it. If he didn't has his $ he woulda been out their. What a freakin sell out he is. As for the rest like IT or Short or Grant or Alessi, what the hell is wrong with these guys. I cannot believe they let this happen. They need to get tougher and win this stuff. Better yet its time to hire the new kids on the block. Barcia etc.Listening Honda?

He won everything except the 125 class. Mike Kiedrowski won that year.

Its sucked since RC started winning. You guys have been saying this kind of stuff since I first signed up here way back in 05/06 (maybe even 04)? And then the beginning of the next season is "looks like this is shaping up to be a good season like it hasn't been for a while!"

Yes, it does seem like this board hypes up seasons before they start. But, we actually have had some whoopass seasons. RC vs JS vs CR back in SX 2006 was epic. RC vs Reed in 2003 SX was sweet. RC vs JS in the 2006 nat's was pretty sweet too. I personally didn't join the hype before the seasons started. I also never complained about a thinned down lineup. I never thought it was. This year in particular is pretty thin. The 2006, 2007 and 2008 series champs are nowhere to be found. The top contenders are pretty much sitting on the couch. With RC, you got the most consistent rider of all time. You knew that there wasn't anyone that could touch him outdoors and to me, that fact made me want to watch him more. You also knew he didn't leave anything on the track. You see a guy like KDub and you know your not seeing everything he's capable. My point is that I never complained about the things you accuse me of.

What are you talking about? Are you really upset a foreigner won? Reed is a complete and total badass on a bike. Its not like they "let it happen", they had there own issues and Reed is the most consistent racer of all time. How can you say they let it happen then promote somone like Barcia? He doesnt even break the top 10 at every round. The kid is so out of shape he makes Windham look like a fitness guru.

I think Barcia is gonna be a bad bad man in the years to come though. This season had the potential to be really great in the 450's before RV and Alessi got injured. Grant showed some potential but also way too much inconsistancy, but I think he'll do better next year.
I'll be honest... I'm generally one of the ones that hypes up every series before it starts, but that's only because this sport rocks my socks, and I'd like nothing more than to see increased popularity through insane battles for the lead, and every year I'm more and more hopeful that it'll happen.
On that note, I really hope Reed carries a lot of confidence into the SX season, RV gets/stays healthy and lays it down, and that Grant can turn it up a notch and keep it there consistantly for the whole series. If that happens, hopefully we'll see an awesome SX series where Stewart doesn't completely dominate. IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME! ;-)

:rotfl: Jnick, I never denied RC wasn't the goat. I just think a few years back some people minimized the talent that was in Europe. Luckily guys like Pourcel, Rattray and Searle are starting to show what's up.
Carmichael and Everts are equals in my eyes. Why? Because they both dominated the sport in their own way. And not only that, they were great ambassadors of the sport also.

Everts should get a ton more credit then he did. He is one of 4 riders to straight up pass Stewart, and he did it with ease
