Shane Watts got hurt yesterday pretty bad out getting a course set up for his DirtWise School Friday and Saturday. He was scheduled to race Sunday as well at The Forward Motion Hare Scramble Circuit in Warrensburg, MO.
He suffered several fractured vertebra when his bike slammed him into the ground. He walked 1/4 mile up a gnarly hill and ended up in a pasture where he yelled for some help.
Myself and a few others helped him into my truck and drove him 8 miles to the nearest hospital. Doctors there told us he was more than likely be transferred to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. He has movement in his arms and legs so everything is great from that standpoint. He should be able to make a full recovery with some rest and therapy.
Prayers go out to his family and friends.
Thanks,
Brad Stretz
