250 B Moto 1 - i got a really good start, somewhere in the top 10 around the second corner, then i washed out around a sweeper and my front brake lever fell off, i still rode out the moto as hard as i could, although i was half lap behind and had no front brake. 25th
250 B Moto 2 - i got a bad start (due to bad gate pick) and i was around the back of the pack first lap, couldnt see where i was going because i was behind someone, and my front end tucked and i high sided in a highspeed sand berm, dirt got stuck in the front brake which wouldnt let it out, so i tried riding back to the pits with front brake sticking, fortunately my brother ran over and found out what was wrong and fixed it, so i did finish the race. 27th (missed a few laps, trying to fix my brake)
Schoolboy Moto 1 - i got a decent start, and even tho i was so mentally tired that i couldnt see straight, i managed a 13th (23 riders)
Schoolboy Moto 2 - i got an 11th place start, and was challenging joseph reynolds for 10th before i got too mentally tired to ride hard, so i was in no mans land the rest of the moto. i was about 10 seconds behind the 5th-10th fast guy battle, and about 15 seconds ahead of the 12th-20th slower pack of riders. this was only my 3rd race in about 2 years, so im just trying to get back into the mix of things. im actually starting to train and i know i can be top 5 if i can be mentally tougher and know i can go the whole (6 laps?) hard. i got 11th in moto 2 for 11th O/A..

Perris (250 B) = 19th O/A
Glen Helen (Schoolboy) = 11th O/A
Glen Helen (250 B) = Crashed out of both motos
(the top 10 are filled with kids who have been hitting amateur nats since they were on 65s, so im trying to get back into my race flow)
I'll get into the flow of things soon, and start running at my full potential.

and dont pull the "top guys run am. nats." people like that will show up no matter where you go if you ever go pro. just accept they are faster than you, it makes life easier

Dude, you've got a long, long, LONG way to go before you live up to your talk. In schoolboy the only people you beat were C riders (6 of them) and the people you were battling with in the back of the B class not to mention the 2 who DNS'ed. The 2 B riders right behind you obviously were faster but had a bad moto since they scored a 6th and a 5th so you got lucky on those 2. Maybe you got "mentally exhausted" from jabbering your jaw and telling people in the pits what you're going to do or what kind of nice big stories you can post on here. I think you talk and type just to hear yourself rattle. I'll give you this, though. At least you did enter a race and posted some results. That is a slight step up.

dude you talk alot of smack. if you make it i will get in line and admit i am wrong but i get the feeling i wont have to. i have accepted that i will never make a living by riding, i still hope to turn pro this season and maybe have some good rides but i know that will be as far as i ever make it. this is my hobby, i do it because i enjoy it. i did the amatuer national scene as a jr. and podiumed at the oak hill gnc in 2006. i was ready to ride the am nationals as as int. too until i broke my wrist twice literally on the same day 2 consecutive years in a row putting me down for 10 months off the bike in a total of 18 months. I never came online and made excuses though, i did my time in a cast and tried again, unlike you i can face reality though. at 21 years old i know i am too old to ever make it and i am working full time and taking college classes. so yes "quicker than me = someone like ryan" maybe true, but thats because i feel like making it somewhere in life.

good day sir.

Those gold cup guys are so cal locals and are pretty fast, I was at a practice before the first one at LACR and in my first time out I was battling for most of the practice with a kid. I could tell he looked young and I just had to wait for him to fade. After the practice his dad came up to me and we chatted and he told me his kid was a novice/JR rider who had just moved up from 80's. :embarrassed: He said that he went one-one at glen helen the weekend before so that didn't make me feel as bad.

Hopefully Devin you never have to face reality like Ryan and I, but if you do, don't be too suprised.

Give Devin a break, guys. I say props for the efforts, man. Good luck in future races, remember all those 'excuses' are mistakes that you can prevent, and are clearly things you can work on, so don't be ashamed of them, realize that it's just another thing to add to your training that you can improve on. Then it will come off less like excuses, and more like you're learning from your mistakes. It also will make you sound more humble. And maybe then you'll realize that it's more satisfying to have other people respect your accomplishments without you having to ram it down their throats, haha.

Haha, I love these threads.

DD, the next race write up I want to hear how you went all out for all the motos. And you finished top 5 in each moto. No excuses.

I know it's easier said than done though. There's how fast you are in your head, and then you go out on the track and get schooled by some dude on a clapped out 2001 KX.

Im not going to rag on you, you raced, thats the first step. I dont know if ive read a race report from you that doesnt involve crashing, maybe youre riding a bit over your head??? I bet you will get it figured out soon if you keep racing and you will get a bit smoother. Keep charging. Oh, and an_hero is faster then you, just accept that, dont worry bout who he is.

first crash = first lap, everyone going for it, i hit the bank on the inside and it was wet sand. not riding over my head.
second crash = last lap, last turn, i literly said "dont be that goon that falls in the last corner" and as i said that, i fell over like a newborn baby trying to walk ;-)
third crash = first lap, lines changed alot from moto 6 to moto 19, and my front end tucked.

& valvesR4pussies, "There's how fast you are in your head, and then you go out on the track and get schooled by some dude on a clapped out 2001 KX"

Its not like im racing 250 novice in kansas.

Everybody is really close in speed in the top 10, i ran with that group for the first few laps then faded really bad, by that time i pulled alot over the next pac of riders, if i can work on being strong the whole time then my results will improve alot.

hahahah that is funny, now you face reality since you cant race at your home track piru. Sure the track you ride at 3 times a week your fast, but look now, you can barely crack top 20 in the B class when you already think your the sh!t.

I raced WORCS in phoenix last weekend and got 5th in 450 B, but was a minute behind the leader, i got smoked, no excuses about it.
