Havent rode a 125 in a long time. My friend has one and my bike was in the shop this weekend so I borrowed his. It became evident how long its been since I rode one when I did about 20 kicks and got nothing out of the bike. I then remembered you had to turn on the gas pet**** and the choke. Then I stalled it starting :embarrassed:. this is a video from pretty early on in the day, if you skip to the 3 min mark I actually get into a fun battle with another kid on a 125

So sweet! Very nice quality of video, and that track looked really fun. I'm glad you had a good time! I can't wait to get my GoPro helmet cam then I'll have all the videos from our practice and race days!

its a badass track, and a lot more sandy then the video shows.
man i was watching that step-up all day and heres the deal. There was only one guy on a 125 doing it, and I had a solid 40 to 50 pounds on that kid, not a chance in hell I was going for it on a borrowed bike

I thought you were going to get the pass a few times there, what happened? I love that sound, and that really made me want to ride! Like I told you when you were here though, I'm kind of attatched to my titty and don't want it cut off to cover my collarbone. I actually sold my 125 two nights ago.....sucks!:puppydog:

No offense, but when your watching these helmet cam videos you just think, holy ****, get on the gas better, flow through the corners better, etc. It just makes the track look way easier.

I know if I watched a helmet cam vid of myself it would probably depress me.

lol dude im in C class, if you didnt watch these videos and think, "holy ****, get on the gas better, flow through the corners better" then something would be wrong.

No offense taking bud, im well aware of where I stand in motocross hierarchy, and im okay with it. When I watch videos I often think to myself, wtf was I dong there? I would like to note, helmet cams do not show track roughness, dont show actual rut depth, and dont show how hardpack/sandy some sections are.

Yeah, I'm a C classer too, and after this 8 month deployment off the bike I'll probably wish for my C class speed.

I guess we just gotta roll that throttle back a little farther.

go ridin man. made me want to ride so bad. i havent been on a bike sine last august. its been so long since ive even been on a 2 stroke. i cant imagine how horrible id be on it. i think you had the step up too. i wish i had a cam. not for my self, id like to see what its like from by brothers speed. ive never been anywhere close to his speed on a bike. im a c class speed rider in the b class.

Judging by the roller, and the sweeping right before that step-up I would guess that step up used to be the triple step up they had? Then you had the left into the "TX 12 pack" as they called it back then and then it headed into the "night track" portion of the track? I'm refering to how the track was many moons ago when I last rode there. It's been so long... I miss it. I always loved and hated that triple step up though because I could just barely clear it and my back end always pitched over everytime I hit it, so if I came up just a little short and landed on top, it always felt like it was gonna buck me over the bars.
Damn, I miss riding there.

lol man its been a long time since it was like that I think. Last I remember it being like that was maybe 02 region??? The night track and day track are completely seperate noe, a very nice touch. VC has been stepping up its game bigtime

I took a break from VC for awhile, im trying to think of when it would have had the gap. I stopped going there 03-05 so thats probably when they had it

Haha, remember that big step down style double they had before the finish line? That was always my least favorite jump. Even if you jumped it right, it was just a painful landing. During my brief time of quad racing, my frame would bottom out on that landing and I think I whispered a prayer to myself every lap leading up to that jump. As gay as quads are on a mx track, I can atleast feel good about the fact that I was one of the very few stupid enough to jump that double on a couch.

That thing was gnarly back in the day. That was probably the biggest jump I ever did as a beginner, I was stoked with myself! I think I only did it twice though and tha was enough for me :-D

I thought the same and that's why I didn't say anything! When I first started riding there were a bunch of pricks out at the track coming over to make fun of us, but the owner came over and said he appreciates their business but could do without it if they were going to act like that because if it was just the fast guys he wouldn't be able to keep the track open and he want's everyone to have fun! It was my first time on a track, and I was intimidated by the track to say the least....not so much by the A-holes! That kind of stuff is ridiculous though, can't have that attitude and expect the sport to get any cheaper or not have a huge black eye. I agree with you Devin, and I'm glad to hear you say that! I enjoyed taking new friends out to ride for the first time and see them get hooked, just made sure they held their line and didn't get in the way or get dangerous. Good times!

Right on... I was lucky. I started off on quads where 99% are spodes anyways, and by the time I switched to bikes I knew the "stay the F outta the way" protocol, but I also had a buddy that was a B rider, so I never had too much trouble with faster guys talkin smack. It's a shame that guy got out of racing. I remember we were riding at one of Adam Chatfields tracks and he actually led Chatfield for like 2 laps, and then kept up with him for another 2 or 3.
Sorry, that got a bit off topic.

DBerg649
03-08-2010, 08:54 PM
Naw, Athens... it is the Chatfields that own that right? I always hated greenville. Rode there once because I wanted to, and everytime after that, the only reason I would go is because my friends were going. Greenville MX and Buffalo Creek were my top 2 least favorite places to ride.

hah I love greenville, but I think it finally closed. Buffalo has stepped up there track bigtime, its pretty awesome now, I heard it was **** when it opened. Only been to Athens once I thought it was pretty coool, huge berms

Ya, I can't say any track sucks now cause it's been too long since I've been to any of them. Last time I went to Buffalo Creek, there were like 2 fun jumps. Other than that, the track flowed horribly, and you actually had to cross the track to get to some of the pit areas. I remember once I came around a corner and almost slid out, so I wasn't lookin that far infront of me, and got back on the gas as I looked ahead, and had to slam on the brakes because a f'n truck and trailer were driving across the track... rediculous.

I am going to take a helmet cam this Saturday and post it up.

Is it an 02/03 cr? I had an 02, was my first brand new bike.

What program did you use to edit it? I always lose heaps of quality when I compress it from the gopro.

Cheers

Why hasn't no one mentioned the punishment our friend took from the 450 that passed him? I enjoyed hearing the rocks and dirt ding off of him.

Fender cam angles are weird. They make everything look so goofy and like you're getting beat to death on the smallest bumps and the sound from the vibration is crazy. I'd like to see a quad rider do one. Bike sounds like it's running good now...except for in the fender one haaha.
