I'm getting my contractors license to install hardwood floors. Does anyone know a good place to buy good quality used tools besides a pawn shop?
And yes i work with hard wood all day heh:lol:

well i don't know much about where you live but around here when most people die there relatives just auction off there stuff. I bought a Dewalt miter saw for $150 and a small 10 inch Craftsman table saw for $100

You can try a local Flea Market. They always have a bunch of tools.
Also Harbor Freight has decent quality tools at an amazing price.

You guys have Harbor Freight too huh? I wasn't sure how big it was. But I definately wouldn't use quality tools and Harbor Freight in the same sentence... :nono:

I agree with teh Harbor Freight comment. I have bought Dewalt tools 99% of the time and I have yet to have a single problem with their tools and I have put some of them through hell.
I bought a socket set at the Home Depot from Huskey I think it is. It has been great so far, but I dont know how it will hold up over time. Other than that I have mainly stuck with the name brand type stuff like Dewalt, Skil, Dremel, and Rotozip.
As far as wrenches and stuff like that I have tons of different types but mostly Craftsman....I dont put too much stress on those tools so I honestly couldnt tell you how they perform/hold up.

try Craiglist or any other type of local advertisement. People around here are selling off so much stuff. and if you are thinking about buying sockets, wrenches, ratchets, etc... buy Snap On. I use them everyday all day long and they are really the best out there.

Yeah I found a few of the things I'm looking for on craigslist, I'm mostly just looking for a pneumatic flooring nailer and a finish nailer
