My wife and I are starting to look into a trip to australia within the next year. I'd also like to throw in a stop in new zealand either on the way or coming back. That's as far as we've thought so far. What do you guys recommend (as motocross fans)? We've been to several big cities, and honestly it's boring. So I could care less if I never get to go to Sydney or Auckland. We just want to do something in the southwest pacific we can't do in the US. So throw out some ideas. Also, we'd like opinions on what the weather is like throughout the year.

I thought you were going to ask for a place that Forcier could transfer to.

Go ride MX on a geyser-infested track in NZ. That's what I wanna do.

The weather in NZ is horrible at the moment, so make sure you time it in summer, but I guess if you're into more scenic stuff in the north island, winter is a good time to go. There was a 7.1 earthquake in Christ Church recently, so I would probably put off touring there for the next 6 months or so unless you're into the third world collapsing buildings/demolished roading thing:lol:. Not really sure what you're asking though? Apart from the cultural Maori stuff, or the specific locations, what can you do here that you can't in the US?

That would be pretty awesome. Bad if you come up short on a double though...

Not if the geyser is between the jumps. Then it would push you up and help you clear it:-D

I was there last May and the weather was pretty nice...65-70 degrees on the east coast. I agree that going to the big cities arent all that it's cracked up to be, no matter the country. But the first place I stayed while I was there was in Lennox Head, which is a pretty small town on the east coast, only about 30 minutes from Byron Bay, which apparently is one of the top tourist spots... but I never would have guessed that just by visiting. But I'd definitely recommend making a stop there and maybe staying in a small town nearby. I was only there for a week and then we left for Sydney and Canberra, but Lennox Head was hands down my favorite place we went. The surf was great, the people were amazing and you could actually enjoy the outdoors. Everyday I dream of moving back there, finding a job that gets me by, and enjoying the surf every day for the rest of my life :puppydog:

To be honest if you have been to a lot of America MX/SX events, you will be really disappointed in the racing over here.
NZ has some amazing spots to ride if you have transport/bike.
Are you into surfing?
