Burma's Nuclear Ambitions on Vimeo

So I was just trolling around on vimeo and i came across this video and it came off to me as a huge surpirse. For the most impatient viewers (the full clip is like 43min) skip ahead to 40min then skip back to 35 and then 30....further back and they just talk about the tunnels the paranoid generals are constructing to "hide their military equipment for US bombarding" but in reality its secretly for nuclear proliferation.

Its great they have their own ex people testifying against them and blowing them outta the water, what shady f#cks. What do you guys think? Patethic too at the end its just because they want to be seen as powerful and not some little ***** country when in reality we dont care to mess them anyways, at least not until we started hearing about all this nuclear talk. I think the golden traiangle heroin and poppyfields and whatever else they have over there (meow meow?) is seriously whacking them out. "shootl first ask later" is bull**** cant believe this is what they teach them you shouldnt have to need to explain humanity to someone.

Has Obama spoke openly about this ever?

You can understand why they think becoming a nuclear power will protect them, though... it's an easy deduction to draw on first glance at the power balance in the world: "The US attacked Iraq, even though North Korea is a much bigger threat. Why? no nukes in Iraq."
It may not be factual, but it is at least a logical argument.

Strange how such poor countries with huge issues in their own borders chooses to invest so much in their military

Didn't they? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but haven't they had them since before the Invasion? Maybe I'm thinking about their long-range missles.

They've been developing their long range missiles for years but their first nuke test was in 2006 and a bit of a fail, same year they tested two missiles people were saying could cover the US completely, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Maybe I am getting my recent history screwed up. I definitely remember wondering why we were invading Iraq, when N. Korea seemed like such a bigger threat at the time. Maybe it was Kim Jong's posturing.

I don't know how a country like Burma would be able to successfully build a nuke. I guess any country can do it, it's just a matter of making it effective. I bet the Ruskies have a hand in this just like they did with Iran. Why the Ruskies would help unstable countries build nukes after admitting during the cold war that a nuclear war between the US and Russia would effectively end the world, is beyond me. Maybe they had more sense as the U.S.S.R.

Helping unstable countries you say? Kind of similar to the CIA giving "a bit" of help to the forerunners of the Taliban little over a decade ago? Maybe RU just wants to protect its interests overseas, just like the US does, and I haven't heard you personally complain about the missile defense shields being planned for Europe on behalf of the US, either W.Bush's attempt at a new cold war or Obamas ideas? I'm not hating on America or anything, but it's not as if there is one good country there, one bad country here

Mutually assured destruction. It's the end all be all of peace.
